Support for Spousal Loss
The loss of a spouse can create emotional and financial pressure at the same time. Maison Dexara provides selected forms of household and healthcare support intended to give widowed mothers and fathers space to breathe, regroup, and care for their families.
Maison Dexara may pay all or part of an approved electricity, natural gas, or water bill directly to the utility provider.
- Up to $250 per approved household
- Payments are made directly to the utility company
- Priority may be given to active shutoff notices
- Extreme-weather needs may receive additional consideration
- Families with children age two or younger may receive priority
Grocery assistance helps families maintain access to food, toiletries, and essential household items during periods of financial transition.
- $100 H-E-B grocery gift cards
- Holiday meal support
- Back-to-school grocery assistance
- Emergency fridge fill-up ($300 value) following the loss of a spouse
- Meal delivery services for those otherwise unable to obtain or use groceries
Maison Dexara may work with a school or school district to help satisfy eligible outstanding meal balances for children from widowed households.
- Payments coordinated through nutrition services
- Funds paid to the participating school or district
- Household eligibility confirmed before payment
- Support up to $100 per student account, limit 3 accounts
Because school meal accounts are managed differently by each district, payments are not made directly to the family.
This program pairs financial assistance with Maison Dexara’s professional healthcare billing expertise, helping widowed parents understand and respond to medical expenses.
- Complimentary medical bill review
- Hospital financial-assistance guidance
- Support arranging manageable payment plans
- Prescription or medical copay assistance
- Transportation assistance for medical appointments
- Up to $250 toward a qualifying healthcare expense
Program model: Each selected family may receive a complimentary medical bill review and up to $250 toward an eligible healthcare expense.
Support for People Experiencing Homelessness
Our homelessness initiative focuses on dignity needs and practical barriers that may prevent individuals and families from accessing healthcare, employment, education, and stable housing.
Durable bags are assembled with frequently requested personal-care and safety items.
- New socks and underwear
- Toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, and body wipes
- Feminine hygiene products and sunscreen
- Hand sanitizer, bottled water, and shelf-stable snacks
- Rain ponchos and basic first-aid items
Maison Dexara may sponsor a defined need through an organization already equipped to provide shelter, case management, or medical respite services.
- One night of emergency lodging for medically vulnerable individuals
- Recuperation supplies following hospital discharge
- Meals for families in temporary housing
Maison Dexara does not own or operate a homeless shelter. We work through established organizations equipped to assess needs and provide ongoing case management.
Seasonal outreach helps address the changing safety, comfort, and family needs created by heat, cold weather, school schedules, and emergency conditions.
- Summer: Hydration kits and heat-safety supplies
- Winter: Coats, blankets, and severe-weather hotel support
- Families: Parent-and-baby kits and holiday meals
- Children: Backpacks and school supplies for unhoused students
Grace in Motion
One of the most overlooked healthcare barriers is simply getting there. For many seniors, asking for a ride can feel emotionally heavy. Grace in Motion quietly restores independence by helping people reach essential healthcare without making them feel like a burden.
- Ride-Share Vouchers: Flexible transportation support for eligible healthcare visits
- Caregiver Gas Cards: Fuel assistance for trusted family members and caregivers
- Non-Emergency Medical Transport: Transportation support when additional mobility assistance is needed
- Bus and Train Passes: Public transportation assistance for seniors with accessible local routes
- Mobile Care Outreach Days: Support for initiatives that bring healthcare resources closer to the community
- Prevent missed medical appointments
- Reduce delays in receiving a diagnosis
- Support consistent access to medications
- Reduce isolation among older adults
- Help prevent avoidable hospitalizations
- Restore a greater sense of independence
Care should always protect dignity.
